The Cost of Delayed Decisions

Some decisions are difficult because the answer is unclear.
Others become difficult because they were left too long.
I’ve sat in meetings where everyone recognised the issue.
Everyone agreed something needed to change.
Yet the decision continued to move from one meeting to the next.
Not because the organisation lacked intelligence.
But because delaying a difficult decision often feels more comfortable than making one.
The irony is that time rarely makes those decisions easier.
It usually makes them more expensive.
Sometimes leadership isn’t measured by making the perfect decision.
Sometimes it’s measured by having the courage to make the timely one.
What important decision has your organisation already postponed long enough?
